Built by a theatre family

MusiCal was started by Jane Kramer as a high school senior, inspired by her love of organization, computer science, and musical theatre. As the eldest of four, Jane saw firsthand how time-consuming it was for families to translate a director's paper schedule into digital calendar entries — especially with multiple children involved in multiple shows.

What started as a service for her own school's productions grew into a tool used by theatre programs across multiple shows: The Wizard of Oz, Anything Goes, Matilda, Finding Nemo KIDS, Pippin, Mean Girls, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Willy Wonka KIDS, and many more.

Today, MusiCal has grown into a complete production management platform — handling scheduling, casting, conflicts, attendance, playbills, and more — built around how theatre actually works.
